Reconnecting With Yourself
We all feel stuck at some point in life. For some of us, it is every day that feels overwhelming and we are looking to get more out of our present experience. And for others, it is the build up of years of things that we have persevered through that has left us feeling stuck. This can feel isolating, overwhelming, and like we have lost ourselves. All of these are normal experiences of what it feels like to be human and it is possible to get reconnected to what matters most for you.
For so many of us, we are bombarded with messages that we should be healing, getting better and doing more. We try to attain these perfect ideals of 'health' all the while losing touch with ourselves. We think that if we just find the right set of how-to's that we will finally solve our 'problems' and fix things. The thing that is different about the way that I practice is that I do not give you how-to's; I do not fix you and I do not solve your problems. Instead, we work together to give you the space and understanding you need so that you can grow and heal. We do this by exploring all of the parts of you and reconnecting to the relationship you have with yourself so that you can move through, make choices and experience life in a way that is meaningful for you.

The therapy space is dedicated to understanding what helps to quiet the noise so that you can focus on what is meaningful for you, whatever that may be. It starts with getting to know you and understanding your story while at the same time giving you the experience of what it feels like to work with me. Research tells us that feeling understood in your relationship with a therapist is was determines your success in therapy. The relationship between you and your therapist is therefore more important than any therapist’s training or the kind of stickiness you are feeling.
In my practice, you will experience an approach that focuses on your unique story as well as rediscovering yourself and your holistic health. in a way that is trauma-informed. This means that we will focus on the root cause of what is in the forefront of your life right now and help you get aligned with what it truly feels like to be you. With time, you will be able to connect with your nervous system and your protective parts so that you can better understand how your body is working to keep you safe. As well, we will explore what is happening here and now for you, both between sessions as well as what comes up in our time together.
What I know to be true is that tomorrow will be better and you don't have to feel stuck.
